The Macromolecular Crystallography Laboratory is located at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Associated Laboratory REQUIMTE.

Main targets of our research are:

(1) Metalloproteins and/or proteins involved in electron transfer processes, in particular (2) Molybdopterin-containing enzymes (Mo active site, associated to other redox centers involved in electron transfer ( [2Fe-2S], [4Fe-4S], hemes and flavins)); (3) Enzymatic and molecular recognition components of the Cellulosome assembly; (4) Interaction of CO releasing molecules with plasma proteins; (5) Protein crystallization with ionic liquids.
