The Macromolecular Crystallography Laboratory is located at the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Associated Laboratory REQUIMTE.

Main targets of our research are:

(1) Metalloproteins and/or proteins involved in electron transfer processes, in particular (2) Molybdopterin-containing enzymes (Mo active site, associated to other redox centers involved in electron transfer ( [2Fe-2S], [4Fe-4S], hemes and flavins)); (3) Enzymatic and molecular recognition components of the Cellulosome assembly; (4) Interaction of CO releasing molecules with plasma proteins; (5) Protein crystallization with ionic liquids.
